Washington High-Speed Rail Plans
For the past 15 years, the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) has provided state-supported Amtrak service in the Pacific Northwest, operating the Amtrak Cascades service between Eugene, Ore., Seattle and Vancouver, British Columbia, in cooperation with the Oregon DOT and Amtrak. Trains operate at maximum speeds of 79 mph.
